Event

Since 1999, the Florida Legislature has celebrated the contributions of Puerto Rican Floridians and culture on Puerto Rico Day, an annual bipartisan event at the Capitol. The Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida is honored to invite you to Puerto Rico Day, one of the most significant gatherings in the State every year.

Registration deadline has passed but you will be placed on a waitlist. We will be in contact with you very soon.

As you may know, there are now in excess of one million Floridians who self-identify as Puerto Rican, nearly surpassing numbers in New York for the first time in history. The fiscal crisis in Puerto Rico will continue to drive migration out of the island and into the States, with Florida being the number one destination.

This year, we will expand upon the customary cultural activities to have experts present on the fast growing Puerto Rican demographic and the implications of such. There will be a Welcome Reception at Florida State University on Tuesday, April 25, along with an awards presentation, and a number of important Panel Discussions at the State Capitol, 22nd Floor on Wednesday, April 26. For more details, please visit the Agenda page. Deadline to register for this event was April 12th!
